With three sizes of teat available to suit our two very popular Foster Feeding kits, each packet contains three teats made from natural latex rubber. The Foster Feeding kits are supplied with teats as standard, but for replacement teats you can purchase more supplies through most quality pet retail outlets, veterinary centres and rehabilitator sites, but should you have trouble sourcing please order direct here through our web-site. The smaller teat (ST1) is made slightly longer so that the length can be cut to size from the neck end, with a sharp tool, to suit the animal being cared for. There are no holes in the teats enabling the foster carer to choose the flow which suits the animal best. For new born / young animals heat treat a small needle, pierce the head of the teat allowing the needle to cool before withdrawing. For a greater flow follow the same advice using a larger diameter needle or trim the head of the teat with scissors, or other sharp tool; taking care not to remove too much at a time. The ST1 teats are used in conjunction with the FFB1 bottles and ST2 & 3 teats’ are used only with the FFB2 feeding bottle.

Our banana shaped toughened glass bottles are used worldwide to hand rear a wide range of animals. Made from toughened glass, the bottles are hand formed into the unique banana shape, with the open teat end shaped to receive the teat/nipple, and the filler end shaped for the thumb/finger, or bottle valve, to control the flow. The bottle is easily cleaned with the bottle brush provided and is kept sterile by boiling or immersing in sterilising fluid The standard feeder (FFB1), for kittens and small animals contains one pack of three small teats (ST1), and a bottle brush. The major feeder (FFB2), for puppies and larger animals contains one pack of medium teats (ST2), one pack of large teats (ST3) and a bottle brush. OPTIONAL EXTRA: Bottle Valve (BV) - Use a bottle valve with the Foster Feeding Bottle to help control the flow of milk.
-
Inexperienced foster carers often find it difficult to secure the animal and bottle feed at the same time, particularly when trying to adjust their position. They place the bottle on a flat surface and promptly find the bottle falls on its side with the surface covered in milk. Positioning our natural latex valve (BV) over the filler end of the bottle, will help alleviate the problem and assists in regulating the flow by pressing the valve up and down as required. The Foster Feeding kits are not supplied with the valves as standard but will need to be ordered separately.
